Mary qualified as a pharmacist in 1968, working in clinical practice for some fourteen years before moving into General Management. She has held Senior Management and Chief Officer roles in primary and community care services for both the NHS and the private sector. In 1992, Mary completed an MBA at Warwick University, working as an independent management consultant until 2001.
She then joined a long-established Charitable Trust as Chief Executive, steering the organisation through name change, registration with the Charity Commission, incorporation, and growth through merger and acquisition. She held this post until her retirement in 2013. Mary joined the Board of Holocaust Learning UK in 2019, having worked with the organisation as a facilitator since 2016.
