Melvyn worked in local government management heading up a Teachers’ Centre, an Arts Centre and with third sector organisations seeking local Council support.
Melvyn’s particular interest in Holocaust education came from supporting his cousin, who was a Hidden Child in Belgium, to research the details of his cousin’s family’s harrowing wartime story.
Melvyn joined the Holocaust Learning UK Joint Committee having previously contributed to Holocaust education workshops for school and college students in synagogues. Melvyn plays a central role in enabling online registration, streaming of the films and the evaluation of Holocaust Learning UK provision by students and teachers.
