[Narrator, archive, Survivor testimony]

Antisemitic violence also reached a new level.  The Nazis forced Poland’s three million Jews into segregated neighbourhoods called ghettos.  Entire communities were uprooted and whole villages left empty. Janine was 8-years-old when she witnessed the conditions in Lvov Ghetto. She describes how there were people dying everywhere and corpses all around. It was terrible experience.
