In March 1938, the Nazis took control of German speaking Austria and Northern Czechoslovakia. Jewish people were persecuted and victimised as they were in Germany. Vera, then aged 8-years-old, remembers how German soldiers came to their front door and barged in to take their radio. They had guns and she was terrified.
