Millions of German people actively supported the Nazi policies. Others didn’t like what was happening but were too afraid to do anything about it. Resisting the Nazis required huge courage. Some stood up to them and paid the price but even small acts of kindness could save lives.
Manfred was 11 years-old and learned subsequently how his father was warned about the impending attack on Jewish people by a neighbour and told it would be safest for him if he disappeared for a while which he did. As a result, Manfred’s father was saved.
