Bob was a 14-year-old Kindertransport child from Germany. He describes how he was taken by a very generous sponsor who paid £50 for him, as he did for several other Kindertransport boys. They all stayed with him for a week, and then, to Bob’s surprise, he was moved on, first to a family where he formed a real bond, but then they couldn’t keep him and so he was moved first to one hostel, and then to another. It left him with the feeling that he never knew what to expect next.
